Teddy

Meet Teddy! As his beloved human is moving into a retirement home, this handsome boy is in need of a second forever home.

Teddy, also known as Teddy Bear, is a 5-year-old Havanese boy who may be little, but his presence is big. He is the poster child for ‘Velcro Dog’. He has only known love, being cherished and having his humans’ undivided attention. He will return the favour by loving you with his whole heart.

Teddy is an absolute character. He makes himself known. He will cuddle and when you gaze in his eyes they will never let you go. Teddy enjoys predictable routines and is more a homebody than an explorer. He loves to run but only where he is safe as his recall is not always reliable. He loves to be talked to and included, and he is well-loved by our neighbours and friends.

Availability: January 2026

Teddy will do best in a quieter home where people are not continuously coming and going and where someone is always at home, as independence is not Teddy’s strength. His greatest fear is being all alone. He is currently on two anxiety medications to help.

Teddy can be territorial and protective, and no matter the size of a perceived threat, he will stand his ground and engage, rather than back down or run and hide. With a little help, guidance, and proper socialization, he should be able to learn that not everything is a threat to him.
