Through working with corporate partners and sponsors, we have hosted three outreach events to help provide seniors, terminally ill people and those in need with pet food and supplies, while creating fun and exciting events for seniors and the community.
pet food giveaway halifax
To celebrate our three year anniversary in May 2024, we held our first outreach event and gave away a free pet food to seniors and those struggling in our community. Our friends at MARS Canada generously donated the pet food, while Garrison Brewing donated the event space. In just one day, we provided food for 300 cats and dogs.
keep pets fed, keep pets home events
In September 2025, MGC partnered with MARS and Loblaws on a new initiative called Keep Pets Fed, Keep Pets Home.
Through in-store events held in Milton, Ontario, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, we collected more than $6,000 worth of pet food donations to help seniors, terminally ill people. Because when you keep pets fed, you keep them where they belong — home.
Holiday Pet food giveaway
In December 2025, we held our second pet food giveaway! We distributed the pet food we received at our Keep Pet Fed, Keep Pets Home events from September. For this giveaway, we held the event during the holidays, and offered free pet photos with Santa, and reindeer games. We helped more than 80 people and fed more than 118 animals.
