Meet Dutch! As his beloved human has moved into long-term care, this friendly and loyal boy is now looking for a loving second forever home.

Dutch is a 10-year-old black Labrador with a heart of gold and an easygoing personality. Dutch spent many happy years with his human. His greatest joys are eating snow, his many, many toys, and being close to his people.

Dutch is an incredibly sweet dog who loves being around his people. He’ll happily follow you from room to room just to keep you company and is always ready for a bit of attention. While he enjoys affection and being close to his humans, he is also perfectly content relaxing on his own during the day and is not destructive when left alone.

Dutch has a playful streak. His absolute favourite activity is playing ball. He’ll enthusiastically chase and retrieve for about five minutes before deciding he’s had a good workout and is ready for a rest. He also loves chew toys and has the adorable habit of proudly carrying one outside with him when he goes to the bathroom.

Dutch has excellent recall, making him a very pleasant companion. Dutch has experienced friendships with several cats and even litters of kittens! However, he can be reactive to unfamiliar dogs, so he would likely do best as the only dog in the home, or possibly with a calm dog after careful introductions.

Dutch would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate dog who enjoys gentle play, cozy company, and a quick game of fetch.
