Ellie

Meet Ellie! As her senior human has moved into long-term care, Ellie is in need of a second forever home.

Ellie is a 6-year-old classic calico with a bold, spicy personality and a whole lot to say about it. An indoor-only cat, she loves playtime and gets the zoomies, especially when springs and balls are involved. When she’s not playing, Ellie enjoys long naps and keeping close tabs on her people (she always prefers to be nearby) and she will happily chat with you throughout the day with her frequent meows.

Ellie is friendly in her own way, but trust is something she gives slowly and intentionally. She enjoys affection on her terms and needs a patient, observant human who will respect her boundaries. Gentle head pets are welcome when she asks for them. She is not a cuddler and does not like being picked up, and she will swat or hiss if she feels overwhelmed. With consistency, calm interactions, and time, Ellie will show her affection by sitting beside you, occasionally hopping into your lap for short visits, and always choosing to be close.

One of Ellie’s favourite activities is sitting by an open screened window, watching squirrels and chirping at birds. She loves treats and has some charming quirks, like insisting on company when she uses the litter box. Ellie thrives on routine and familiarity.

Ellie is looking for a second forever home where she can be the only pet in the home and requires a household without children. Most importantly, she needs an adopter who is patient, cat-savvy, and committed to earning her trust at her pace. For the right person who is willing to give her time, space, and understanding, Ellie will become a loyal companion.
