spring 2025 edition

WELCOME TO THE LATEST EDITION OF MY GRANDFATHER’S TALES

We’re so excited to share with you the work we’ve been doing and the milestones we have met over the last three months.

800 animals and 500 humans helped

In less than four years, MGC has officially helped more than 800 animals and 500 humans through our work.

We’ve found 330 second forever homes, fed 480 animals through our pet pantry and outreach event, and, through these initiatives, helped more than 500 seniors, terminally ill people and their families

We are so grateful for everyone who has made it possible for us to make such a tremendous impact in a short amount of time. Your kindness, generosity and compassion are the foundation of our work, and we couldn’t have done this without each and every one of you.

our spring pet pantry is here

My Grandmother’s Pet Pantry is back for another season! This year, our goal is to help 150 seniors and feed more than 300 animals across Canada.

Our Spring Pet Pantry is underway!, This season, we will provide 25 low-income seniors with $200 worth of pet food and supplies shipped directly to their door.

our recent adoptions

Quivers, Jeremy and Fluffy

When a senior lady in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, was struggling to care for her three cats, Quivers, Jeremy and Fluffy, she reached out to My Grandfather’s Cat. Just two days later, a long-time supporter of MGC, Darlene, reached out to see if by chance we had a pair of cats, or even three cats, coming up for adoption in Wolfville. It seemed like fate.

Georgie

When his mom passed away and his dad had to move into a long-term care home, this sweet boy was in need of a second forever home.

Olena

When Olena’s senior human passed, his granddaughter took in his beloved cat, Olena. The granddaughter had a dog and realized that Olena was not thriving with a dog in the home, so she reached out to My Grandfathers Cat.

I can’t thank you enough. I really can’t. I hope you never have to personally experience how much this means to me but please know that it is deeply settling and peaceful to know your baby will be ok without you.
— Laura, Nezuko’s mom
