Allie

When her senior human’s ALS diagnosis progressed and she was in need of palliative care, her beloved cat, Allie, was in need of a second forever home. Her son decided to contact My Grandfather’s Cat.

He began working with our team to find Allie a second forever home in the Toronto area. Allie’s human mentioned that she was raised by another cat and thrived with a cat sibling, so after interviewing a few applicants, they chose Hailey, Aman and their cat Bisous to be her second forever family.

As Allie was located in Hamilton, and her new home was located in Toronto, she needed a lift. Coincidentally, our founder was in Toronto for the weekend and was able to pick up Allie and drive her to her second forever home.

For the next two months, Allie’s human received updates on her new life. She passed away in December knowing her best friend was safe and loved.

Hailey and Aman went above and beyond to ensure Allie had a proper introduction to her second forever home and her sister, Bisous. Although Allie was insistent she was ready to explore the home immediately, and Bisous was insistent that Allie didn’t.

It took months of patience, but then one day when both sisters returned home from a check-up at the vet, they both finally decided they could coexist together. Now, they spend their days meowing at mom for breakfast, greeting their humans when they get home and watching TV together as a family.
