Meeka
When Meeka’s beloved human passed away from terminal cancer, her beloved cat Meeka was in need of a second forever home. Her friend was determined to find a second forever home for Meeka, so she contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.
She began working with our volunteer, Scarlett, to find a home for Meeka in Ottawa, Ontario. Scarlett interviewed the first applicant, Eneria, and she was the perfect fit.
Eneria is a long-time supporter of MGC who was waiting for a cat that was the perfect fit for her to come along. Once she met Meeka, she knew she was the cat she was looking to adopt. She took Meeka home the same day as the meet and greet.
The next day, she realized Meeka’s terminally ill human had been struggling to care for her. So, she made a vet appointment the same day and contacted Scarlett to let her know. Meeka had severe mats, an ingrown nail removed and a few other things that her human was unable to take care of during the last weeks of her life. Eneria, Scarlett and our founder, Angela, worked together to make sure Meeka’s concerns were taken care of. As these were emergency veterinary expenses, MGC covered the $750 cost.
Now, a few months later, Eneria and Meeka are thriving. They have moved into a new home where they have settled in and have become the best of friends.
