Holly

When a lovely senior lady passed away at the of age of 102, her beloved, three-legged cat, Holly, was in need of a second forever home. Her granddaughter took Holly in, but it was only a temporary solution. That’s when she decided to contact My Grandfather’s Cat.

She began working with our volunteer, Claudia, to find 15-year-old Holly a second forever home in Ottawa, Ontario. The granddaughter knew that Holly was the light of her grandmother’s life. She also knew that Holly thrived with her senior grandmother and she was hoping to find another senior to adopt her. As Claudia interviewed each applicant, one stood out — Olga.

Olga, who is 88 years old, adores cats and was hoping to adopt a new best friend to help brighten her days. The granddaughter thought it was a perfect fit and with the help of Olga’s daughter, Jill, Olga adopted Holly just a few days later.

“I can’t stop crying with gratefulness that we found the perfect human,” says the granddaughter.

It only took a few days for Holly to settle into her second forever home and had become the light of Olga’s life.

“We are one week into adopting Holly. She has settled right in and my mom adores her. I get Holly stories every day!”
