Issa and Yorick

When a lady tragically passed away at only 56 years old, her three beloved cats were in need of a second forever home. Her parents wanted nothing more than to adopt all three, but they were only able to adopt one with the rules of their condo building. So, they decided to contact My Grandfather’s Cat to find a second forever home for Issa and Yorick.

The mom began working with our Adoption Coordinator, Jenna, to find Issa and Yorick a second forever home in Burlington, Ontario. As many people had never seen a bonded Siamese and long-haired orange boy as a bonded pair, the applicants immediately came in for this uniquely perfect duo.

After Jenna reviewed more than 40 applicants and completed interviews with many, the mom chose Tara and Court to be their second forever family. A few days later, Issa and Yorick moved to Guelph, Ontario and quickly settled into their second forever home.

“Tara and Cort are the very best “parents” our daughter Renee could wish for and we’re so pleased. Both cats are doing so well and you can see that both have taken over Tara and Cort’s house.”

Many families we help want nothing more to keep their loved ones, but often it simply isn’t possible. Thankfully, there are incredible humans ready to open their hearts and homes to these beloved pets.

“Thank you for all your efforts and caring — and especially a huge thank you for those who volunteer hours you give so willingly. My Grandfather’s Cat has a very special place in my heart.”
