Loki and Willow
When a senior lady passed away, her beloved cats, Loki and Willow, were in need of a second forever home. The daughter took them in, but it was only a temporary solution as she had severe allergies to cats. That’s when she contacted MGC.
She began working with our volunteer, Sarah, to find second forever homes for Loki and Willow in Cobourg, Ontario. Loki and Willow were not bonded, and both thrived as single cats, so she decided to adopt them separately. It only took a couple of weeks for Loki to be adopted and settle into his second forever home.
Meanwhile, Willow was diagnosed with an unexpected bladder stone and needed urgent surgery. The daughter waited a couple of months for Willow to recover before starting the adoption process again. Over the next few months applications came in, but the daughter didn’t feel a connection. MGC didn’t give up and continued to run ads and look for a home for sweet Willow. Then, a lady named Kathy applied.
Kathy had recently lost her husband and was looking for a cat to help bring love back into her home. The daughter knew Willow was the perfect fit for her, and she was the perfect fit for Willow. Eight months after the adoption began, Kathy adopted Willow.
“Willow has been a blessing for me. I’m so glad that my friend told me about My Grandfather’s Cat and I have told many others.”
