Minky and Moochie

When a senior lady was diagnosed with a terminal heart condition, she chose not to have surgery and spent her last years with her two beloved cats, Minky and Moochie. After two years, she was struggling more and more every day and decided it was time to find a home for Minky and Moochie. So, she contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.

She began working with our volunteer, Melanie, to find Minky and Moochie a second forever home. Soon after they spotted this adorable pair on our social media, Shannon and Tyler saw their post and sent Melanie an email. After chatting with both Melanie and the senior, they agreed they’d be the perfect fit to adopt Minky and Moochie.

When it came time for them to move to their second forever home, the senior simply wasn’t ready. She asked for more time with them, and the couple graciously said yes. They waited two months for her to be ready, and then Minky and Moochie moved into their second forever home, where they are thriving.

"Moochie has lost a pound in weight since transitioning to her new diet. She loves playing and getting brushed. Minky has been getting accustomed to her new inhaler routine and is experiencing fewer asthma attacks. She is a vocal and intelligent girl. We are so grateful to have them in our lives.
