Otis
When a senior lady began to worry about what would happen to her cat if anything happened to her, she asked her dear friend if she’d take him. Without hesitation, her friend agreed to take Otis in. When the senior passed away, she knew Otis was going to be safe and loved.
Otis moved in with her friend as she had promised, but over the next few months, it became apparent that Otis didn’t get along with her two cats and two dogs.
After trying everything, she realized that Otis needed a home without other animals where he could thrive in without other animals. So, she made the difficult decision to contact My Grandfather’s Cat and find a way to keep her promise of ensuring Otis would be safe and loved.
She began working with our volunteer, Leanne, to find Otis a second forever home in Oshawa, Ontario. Otis’s sweet, fluffy face and adorable pink nose drew in many applications. After Leanne and the friend interviewed each applicant, they chose Valerie to be his second forever family, where he can be safe and loved — just like his human wanted him to be.
“Huge thanks to My Grandfather's Cat for helping rehome Otis, a sweet cat who lost his elderly owner, my dear friend Joyce. This amazing nonprofit finds loving homes for pets when their owners pass or move into care. They handled everything with such care and compassion, and I’m beyond grateful.”
