Putin and queenie
When a niece lost her beloved uncle, she flew from Yellowknife to his home in Toronto. She temporarily moved into his apartment and cared for his beloved cats, Putin and Queenie, until she could find them a loving home. She wanted to honour her uncle’s wishes of finding a loving home for Putin and Queenie together. So, she contacted My Grandfather’s Cat.
She began working with our volunteer, Jenna, to find Putin and Queenie a second forever home in Toronto, Ontario. Jenna only had to interview two applicants for one to stand out, and that was Joanna and her family.
Joanna’s kind and compassionate heart radiated during the interview, and both Jenna and the niece were certain she could provide Putin and Queenie with a home that fulfilled the uncle’s wishes. Joanna was also able to adopt them immediately, which was perfect as the niece needed to return home to Yellowknife.
Now two months later, Putin — now lovingly called Pluto — and Queenie are thriving in their second forever home. The niece was able to return to her life in Yellowknife, knowing her uncle’s best friends were safe and loved.
“They are adjusting beautifully. We’re absolutely in love with them and so happy to have them here. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for giving us the opportunity to welcome these sweet cats into our home.”
