Tigger, Tiny and Sammy

Since MGC launched, hundreds of families have felt deeply connected to our work and have even chosen to adopt through us, but there is one family in particular who has gone above and beyond and officially adopted their third cat from MGC. We’d like to introduce you to Alie and Josh.

After getting married, they decided it was time to welcome a cat into their home and as long time supporters of MGC, they knew they wanted to adopt through us.

So, they adopted Tigger after his beloved senior mom passed away. Devastatingly, his kidney disease advanced far quicker than any of us could have imagined, and they only had a short time with him, but they loved up until his very last day. After taking time to let their hearts heal, they were ready to open their home to their second MGC adoptable.

That’s when they adopted Tiny, a sweet 14-year-old girl who had also recently lost her senior mom. During Tiny’s vet check, it was discovered that she needed emergency dental surgery, which was covered by MGC. This didn’t phase Alie and Josh. After she recovered from her surgery, they brought her home and she immediately started thriving, no longer in pain from her teeth and in a home filled with love.

“Tiny is doing amazing, the minute either of us sits on the couch she curls up right next to us for pets. We love her so much.”

Then, a few months later, Alie saw a post from MGC about a sweet 11-year-old cat named Sammy who was urgently in need of a second forever home after the sudden loss of his senior dad. After discussing how Tiny would do with another cat, they knew they could make it work and decided to adopt Sammy. It took a few weeks for Sammy to come out of his shell, but once he did, he showed Alie and Josh all the love they had shown him.

Now, one year since they got married, Alie, Josh, Tiny and Sammy are thriving as a family of four. Sammy loves Tiny, and Tiny is indifferent about Sammy. They tell them about this sibling, Tigger, who will always hold a special place in their hearts. Their home is filled with love, happiness, joy and every day silliness.

MGC is simply the vessel to help these sweet adoptables find their homes. Incredible humans like Alie and Josh are the reason these cats find their second forever families. We will forever be grateful for every single person who has opened their hearts and homes to our adoptables, whether it’s one adoptable or three! The work we do is made possible because of you.
